Citation Mustang

First flown in 2005, the Citation Mustang charter jet produced by American based Cessna Aircraft Company falls into the recently designated very light jet category. The Citation Mustang allows seating for four passengers and two crewmembers, but is also certified to fly with only one pilot. This private jet was the first in its class to be certified for flight and also the first to be certified to fly into known icing conditions. Citation Jet 1

Citation Jet CJ3

Citation II (Bravo)

Produced by Cessna, the Citation II/550/551 charter jet provides more cabin space and longer range than other light jet in its class. Typical seating configuration for the Citation II allows for two crew members and seven passengers to be seated comfortably. In fact, Cessna introduced the Citation II as a result of the rapidly growing demands for light business jets. The Citation II can travel at speeds of up to 386 mph for over 1,347 nautical miles. Although a light jet, the Citation II can still climb up to 45,000 feet, well above any inclement weather. Citation V (Ultra)

The Cessna Citation V/Ultra/560 charter jet was developed in light of the growing demand for increased cabin space in light jets. Hawker 400XP

Learjet 35/40

The Lear 40 charter jet is the newest executive light jet produced by Learjet, Bombardier Aerospace Company, currently in production under the name Lear 40XR. In production since 2002, the Lear 40 is powered by two Honeywell TRE731-20-BR engines that make the Lear 40 even faster than its predecessor the Lear 31. The Lear 40 is typically configured for eight (two crew and six passengers) but can accommodate another passenger on a lavatory seat with still plenty of workspace. The Lear 40 is capable of traveling nearly 1,750 miles without refueling. The Lear 40 can reach speeds of up to 535mph and can reach an altitude of 43,000 after only 23 minutes of flight. Considered to be one of the best business jets in the light jet category, the Lear 40 is faster off of the ground and boasts the most cabin space in its class.
